The powers of maternal smell

Many studies have highlighted the benefits of a mother's scent on her baby, contributing to her well-being , or even better sleep , or even survival.

Already in our belly, the olfactory system is also one of the first senses to be set up in babies. You should also know that the smell of nos  nipples and breast milk have the same aromatic signature as amniotic fluid , thus giving this sweet familiar scent its reassuring and reassuring power, and a role in the attachment . A newborn is also able to recognize his mother among all other women thanks to her smell, the memory of the smells of gestational life being active from birth and up to several weeks or even several months, thus making it possible to smoother the transition between intra-uterine life and extra-uterine life . Maternal odor has even been proven to play a big role in the survival of premature babies .

But more generally, whatever our age, the mother's smell  is always associated with tenderness and protection , right?

The role of the comforter

The comforter is often described as being the transitional object par excellence. It was in the 1950s that child psychiatrist-psychoanalyst Donald Winnicott shed light on this transitional object function, explaining that this object allowed the child to bridge the gap between his "primitive" relationship to the maternal breast , and the outside world . For him, any normally constituted child could not do without a transitional object. We suspect that the smell of a comforter is very important because it reminds the baby of a safe environment.   A cuddly toy, it is therefore this small object yet so significant in meaning, charged with a little of you , a little of him , which will be the witness of each young and old steps of your baby, of each small and big emotion , which will accompany him everywhere , and will give him a little more confidence to open up to the world, or simply to fall asleep peacefully. Your mission is therefore to find THE cuddly toy , this first best friend on which your baby can always rest. So it's good that you are reading this since our mission has been to create a cuddly toy that meets as many of your needs as possible, and which will be able to accompany you through all the phases of your baby's development , from birth to the first anxieties . separation , and much more ❤

The best for the future generation

We are not going to make the news again and already know very well the concern that can seize every parent at least once about the future of our children. So we simply wish to bring through our products and our values, a little sweetness in this world of brutes, and offer the best for this generation of tomorrow in whom we want to believe

This is why ELEAMOI is first and foremost committed to offering quality products,   handmade in France , for more local and responsible consumption, especially when we know that 99% of the comforters in our children still come from China, so it's high time for that to change, don't you think?

In addition, we only use certified fabrics without harmful products whether for the planet or for our babies (organic and/or Oeko-tex®), and our comforters have the CE standard , they have thus been tested and are conform to standards NF EN 71-1, NF EN 71-2 + A1 and NF EN 71-3  + A1,   guarantee of quality and safety for our toddlers.

The story of a meeting

ELEAMOI is the fusion of two souls dependent on each other, Eléana and me , Stéphanie. Or a simple mother and her baby. And the story of the Sentimental cuddly toy goes back to the very first ties woven, during my bedridden pregnancy.

I was very quickly made aware of the interest of impregnating with my scent the future cuddly toy of my daughter, who could be born at any time. So I adopted certain routines which consisted of slipping it into my cleavage during the day and sleeping with it at night. Routines that intensified after she was born, marveling at how my simple smell had the power to calm her crying or help her fall asleep. It even happened to me to leave my t-shirt outright in his bed (then not to take his eyes off the camera, anxious about the risk of suffocation..). As our first real separation approached, and tired of the non-practicality or even dangerousness of my practices, I made the famous comforter that I had been secretly thinking about for months, although I had never touched a sewing machine in my life. I made the bet to leave my white nurse 's coat aside to devote myself fully to it, and bring a little more sweetness and serenity to other families ♥
